What Festival policies should I be aware of before I head out the door?
With the underlying message of safety, the Festival has instituted the following guidelines. No pets permitted other than service dogs. To keep walkways free of obstacles there are no bicycles, tables and chairs or coolers permitted. Ample seating is available. In compliance with the Ventura County Health department, no non-Festival food and drinks are permitted within the Festival grounds. Respectful of the artisans showcasing their original works, no photography of Fine Arts & Crafts please. Strollers are permitted but can present challenges when navigating the park area with grass, wood chips, and dirt pathways. Though the event is handicapped accessible, there is no wheelchair rental available.
Who receives the money raised from the Festival?
As a non-profit 501c(3) organization run by an all-volunteer board, the Festival has raised beyond $3 million for various official charitable organizations since its inception in 1984 – for Southland schools, religious groups, civic and youth organizations. Affiliated non-profit organizations retain 100 percent of earnings from their food booth, and stipends are awarded to 30 service groups that provide much needed on-site assistance. Festival contest awards, scholarships and philanthropic grants extend the contributions past the weekend event to impact thousands of lives.
