Strawberry Promenade
- a Tented Oasis
The wonderful new Strawberry Promenade sponsored
by Kaiser Permanente makes its premiere at this year’s Festival
with an interactive and imaginative take on all things berry. Stroll
through and experience the 12-foot-long framed strawberry field “Life
of A Strawberry” exhibit or visit
the Hero’s Hall pictorial salute to Festival non profit benefactors,
take the green challenge at the recycling depot, or get a few tips on
growing your own strawberries, courtesy of the California Strawberry
Commission.
At the top of every hour, the Promenade’s presenter stage comes alive
with enlightening activities and workshops such as quick & easy strawberry
recipes for people on the go, health and wellness strawberry style, creating
by artisan design, proper care for your strawberry garden, keeping it green
with recycling, and more.
Star Berry Hunt
Adventure also awaits! You won’t want to miss the all-new “Star” Berry
Hunt, an outlandishly fun and interactive quest for berry knowledge that
begins within the Strawberry Promenade. Pick up your Star Berry Card and
set out to explore the Festival grounds in an exciting search for clues
that expand your berry knowledge and send you on your way to winning cool
prizes and strawberry souvenirs. Follow the berry map and journey at your
leisure. Wherever you discover the image of our “Star” Berry
mascot, Mr. S. Berry, within the Festival grounds, you can bet there will
be a helpful clue nearby. Solve the riddle and turn in your completed card
at the Ventura County Star’s “Star in Education” booth
in Strawberryland For Kids and you’re in the running for grand prizes
like a four-night cruise and a weekend getaway to Honolulu with round trip
airfare and hotel, compliments of Shell Vacations. Everyone earns special
strawberry goodies just for participating. It’s berry enlightening
and best of all, berry fun! |
